I redid many aspects of the summary and it should make a lot more sense and it actually has an ending. As always, feedback is greatly appreciated.
The world of Draconus
Draconus is the smallest planet in a fictional galaxy. It is full of vegetation and consists of many different species of creatures. During the early history of Draconus, it mainly consisted of reptilian like creatures; after many centuries they evolved to become known as dragons and there was a huge war between the Draconians and the Dragons. The war first started when the Draconians decided to rid the planet of the “atrocities” due to their hostility, and the creation of wyrm monsters. The war lasted for over 50 years, but once a Wyrm Hunter known as Ninko Kirbus came around, it seemed like the war was going to end. After his success with killing many dragons, he was known for his selflessness and efficiency. He became one of the most renown wyrm hunters of all time. Ninko slayed most of the dragons, although most of them were young and were not at the peak of their strength. In the end, he prevented a dragon epidemic by nearly making them extinct. Years after these events, he himself was slain by a mere pack of Wyrm wolves due to his vulnerable age. His death was witnessed by his own family in the little town of Dragu on the eastern continent.
Nearly a decade later, Nero, Ninko's son, took his place to slay the remaining 8 dragons on the year of 300 ABP (After Birth of Planet) (Year 49 of the Dragon War). Over the next year, Nero created a group of elite Wyrm Hunters that resulted in the total annihilation of the Dragons. During the genocide, Nero and the group discovered many dark secrets; The dragons were actually not creating the wyrm monsters themselves. A mad scientist were taking the blood of the dragons and using it to mutate organisms in to blood thirsty beings. Not only that, but they ended up encountering people who call themselves Dragoons, and they worshipped the dragons. These dragoons were mutated with dragon blood and were made in to half dragon half Draconian abominations. Nero was appalled by these inhumane practices and rid of these psychologically troubled people... Near the end of the odyssey Nero looked as if he was regretting what he has been doing... But the party members took no heed in his troubles and trudged on. In the end, Nero and the group slayed the final dragon, but it cost Nero's life... From then on, Nero was known as the savior of Draconus, and was worshipped throughout the rest of its history...
The extinction of Dragons had many consequences. It ended up slowly killing the planet, as the dragons were actually the protectors of Draconus. Since their powers were no more, the planet ended up completely stopping and was left with two distinct sides of the planet. One side full of darkness, prevalent of life. The other side full of light, barren of life. The dark side of the planet has one of the biggest cities in all of Draconus, and that was the metropolis of Aislu. It was once a spiritual city full of peace, but years after the great change it caused it to flip. The city became one of the most dangerous yet populated cities in the entire planet, and the people started to panic due to the tremendous change.
Although, this was all about to change due to the strength of one shape shifter. It was named Kiman and he was the last Dorag; A nearly extinct race that could shape shift to whatever his brand is. Kiman's brand was of a wolf, and he used it well to hide his true self. He lived with a family in the barren lands away from Aislu, but one day a group of gangsters came and murdered the only people he loved... With his unstable emotions and what little clues he found, he head to Aislu. His plan was to purge the city once and for all, to slay all of the gangs no matter if they caused the malfeasance. As Kiman slowly purged each gang, he learned more about himself... Every gang leader was actually a part of Kiman's entirety, each being a facade of Kiman's true identity. Every time one fell, every time they were absorbed in to Kiman's body. Kiman exponentially became stronger with each death, and obtained a new form each time. Before he killed the 3rd gang leader, Kiman finally learned the complete truth. Kiman was actually not a Dorag, but merely a scientific experiment to annihilate an unknown entity recreating the Dragoons from the old manuscripts. The experiment ended up causing him to split in to three different personalities that each consisted and based around an emotion. The three forms escaped from the laboratory and the scientists thought all their work was for nothing. Kiman did not know what to think of this, and thought that was a complete lie. He took no heed to this and he became whole. He took flight to his final destination, the laboratory where he was actually created; the final gang leader's headquarters.
As he headed there, he encountered many abnormal organisms, they had the strength and speed of himself. He was able to defeat them, but he decided to take off the mask of the human like entity. When he took it off he realized something very peculiar of them, that these people had scaly skin and had deformed heads... The final part of him was right, he was created to destroy the Dragoons... The scientists took the old manuscripts and tried to recreate a Dorag, to be able to kill these abominations... He pushed on and killed all the Dragoons that stood between him and the supposed leader. When he finally reached the roof of the laboratory, he saw something very peculiar... He saw a medium sized dragon perched upon the roof. He finally realized his true purpose, to kill the final dragon inhabiting Draconus, and finally finish what Nero meant to do hundreds of years ago. After the fierce and grueling battle, Kiman comes out victorious and saved Draconus from ultimate annihilation.
Two years exactly after Kiman's great battle, the sun was no more. The planet fell to complete darkness and the true apocalypse began. The world became globalized and the entire planet was ruled by a corrupted official. Many resistance fighters have risen but due to all of the groups being disorganized, they could not achieve anything. Thus, a man named Claudius rose up. He was an unique man since he had an aura that seemed to resemble sunlight. People believed he was the true savior of Draconus; he ultimately unified the resistance forces. As Claudius and the resistance forces were able to retaliate, he was able to break through to the governments headquarters located in Dragu. The final battle between them seemed to be coming to a close. The resistance fighters seemed to have the upper hand, and Claudius decided to finally head to the emperor... As he went in to the throne room, he noticed something very abnormal; Claudius had dragon wings sprouting from his back and started to transform in to a dragon. The emperor laughed and told him he was actually no savior, but the bringer of the end of the world. He unveiled that he was one of the descendents of the Kirbus family, and that he was going to kill him and continue to rule over the world. Claudius could not believe this... He was supposed to be sent from Nero, he was supposed to save the world, he then thought... Am I really the avatar of death? All while he was thinking this, he had visions from the gods of old whom were forgotten after the purge. The explained to him he was actually one of the guardians of the planet, and that Draconus became too corrupted to save. All of the dragons during the history of Draconus were chosen by the old gods and were given an element to with hold, and that is how the planet started to slowly die... With Claudius' new motivation and new purpose, he gained the strength to attack the emperor. During the battle many quakes were happening and the planet seemed like it was exploding... Their battle was son throughout the entire galaxy... It occurred on many planes, the ground, sky, space, and the heavens. Ultimately, Claudius was victorious, and Draconus was no more...

Kiya Profile draft 1
Name: Kiya Keru
Age: 18
![]() | |
All concept art done by Matthew Hope |
Kiya Keru is a young Wyrm Hunter who is Nero's partner. She was born in Dragu, the same small hidden town of Nero's. Kind, timid, naïve, and agile, she is the exact opposite of Nero. Her expertise with the long sword rivals many throughout Draconus, her elegant sword play surprises many, since it is both swift and powerful. As the daughter of Terk Keru, she grew up training alongside Nero, which created this long lasting relationship between the two. This relationship somewhat resembles sibling rivalry, since they were both raised by Terk; taught to be competitive and to always strive to do their best. Despite Nero and Kiya having this type of childhood, Kiya has feelings for him, and she tends to conceal them as best as she can. Although, they come out quite evidently at times.
Nero profile draft 1
Name: Nero Kirbus
Age: 19 years old

Thanks to Matt Hope for the Illustration |
Nero Kirbus was born in Dragu, the small town well known as the birthplace of Ninko Kirbus, and Terk Keru. Nero is a quick witted, strong, wise, and dextrous young man. He inherited his father's mission in killing the Dragons that inhabit Draconus, to relieve the people of the pain and suffering that the dragons have inflicted. His weapon expertise is primarily utilized with a dagger made of Dragon bone, leather, teeth and claws; but he is also skilled with pistols, rifles, and utilizing his surroundings to create traps. His father died when he was very young; thus his father's partner raised and trained Nero and Kiya to become their successors. As Nero and Kiya completed more and more jobs, their fame skyrocketed and were requested across seas. Their own notoriety quickly surpassed their fathers. As Nero realized what has happened to them, he knew that their inherited mission will quickly come to an end once they returned to their distraught little town...
Prologue
Kiya Keru is a young wyrm hunter known as Nero Kirbus' partner. She is a very kind young woman, at a very vulnerable age of 18. She cares for Nero greatly, but attempts to hide her feelings towards him. They have a very weird relationship, that resembles much of sibling rivalry. She trained with Nero under her father, Terk Keru, who was a very well known wyrm hunter decades ago. He was the partner of Ninko Kirbus, and has slain many of the dragons that once existed on Draconus. Kiya grew up with Nero in Dragu, a small town which lies south of Aislu in a secluded forest. There they honed their skills at a very young age and quickly took on jobs with Terk. Their skills soon surpassed even his and became guardian hunters of Dragu.
In their early years of becoming professional wyrm hunters they stayed on their home continent. After those few short years, they quickly started taking international jobs and traveled to every large continent, slaying monster after monster. Eventually they started slaying the lesser dragons around Draconus. During this time, they have not been back to Dragu for 3 years. Around Kiya's 18th year, they finally returned to Dragu. The night they returned should have been a nightmare for them, for the Land Dragon trampled through their small town without much hindrance whatsoever.
With anger and despair on their sleeves, Kiya and Nero vowed to slay the Land Dragon, along with the remaining ones. They tire of the same destruction that lies throughout the planet, and want complete peace to reign over...

Draconus Legends Story Arc 1: Anguish
"Nero, do you feel obligated because of our fathers?"
"In a way, I do Kiya. I mean, we have to finish what our fathers started so we can save the planet. It is our duty."
"I guess you are right, I... I just wanted some confirmation."
Ever since that night he has not been acting very normal... The destruction of our home town was surely a devastating predicament, but he has always been so strong. Maybe i shouldn't worry about him; he can take care of himself. I'm just surprised he invited me to come with him on this job, he rarely does that. Most of the time i have to follow him to the job. Heh, maybe he just cares about me too much... I kinda doubt it though. We've known each other since we're kids, we grew up together, we trained together, and now we hunt together... Maybe we were meant to be partners due to our fathers... Ninko Kirbus hunted with my father, Terk Keru. They have slain many of the dragons that once inhabited this world, and now there are merely 8 dragons left.
A new enemy has recently appeared though, and no one knows where they have come from. These monstrosities are known as wyrm monsters, as we assume the dragons have created them; they have traits that are very similar to dragons whom roam the world today. They have been ravishing country sides and small villages, and tend to avoid larger cities. Nero and I have mainly been assigned to ridding of this menace in our area, but with this recent attack from the dragon has deterred us from slaying them.
Nero most likely already knows this, i can see it in his eyes... Maybe that's why he has been so flustered lately... It has been 2 days since our hometown was ravaged by the Land Dragon, and now we are slowly tracking it down since. We have been heading north, to the spiritual city of Aislu, the home of the sun god Dorran.
"When are we supposed to reach Aislu?"
"Look ahead Kiya, we're almost there. Just one more days worth of traveling."
He was right, there was a rainbow of bright sprites floating around the sky just ahead of us. The view from this hill allowed us to see across the plains to Aislu, where light filled the pitch black sky. It was so beautiful, I do not think I have ever seen such a sight. We have been all over Draconus, to each continent; it just baffled me. The dancing lights created such an aurora that was so unique... I just wanted to stay here with Nero and stare into it all night...
"Nero, can we stay here for awhile?"
"We can't stay long, we need to make camp and rest for the day ahead."
"Well, will you promise me that we will come back here some day?"
"We shouldn't be thinking about such trivial things, we have a lot of dragons to slay ahead of us"
"Oh come on! Can't you just promise me this one thing?"
"Errr, I guess. You have to keep in mind that we may not even live to see such a day."
"Oh shut up Nero! You're always the pessimist!"
"I like to think of myself more of a realist Kiya, plus you should have anticipated what I was going to say. We have been wyrm hunter partners for as long as I can remember."
He was right I should have known he was going to say that. We have known each other all throughout our lives. It is weird how two completely opposite people can be such good partners in work. We rarely argue, or get in to any fights at all. Although it could be that I actively try to avoid arguments and fights with people.
"So do you think we'll come back here some day?"
"Most likely, we are some of the most skilled wyrm hunters in all of Draconus, however we cannot do the job alone..."
"Who else will help us out? People will probably laugh at us for even attempting something this insane!"
"You may be right, but we need to try."
I wonder who we can convince to help us... There must be other wyrm hunters who are up to the task of slaying these devils. We must focus our minds on slaying the Land Dragon of Dorran, for he is our first obstacle we must slay before we can even hope to slay the rest of them.
"Let's get going Kiya, we need some sleep."
"Alright."
We walked down the hill, which was illuminated by the lights from Aislu, and made camp in a small cave at the bottom of the hill. We covered the entrance up with a large rock from within, and pulled out our sleeping bags and quickly fell asleep...

The Dragoons
The source of the Wyrm monsters that inhabit the planet of Draconus was from the dragoons. The dragoons was a cult/society that worshipped the dragons and treated them as ultimate beings. The creator of this cult was a mentally ill scientist who conducted very a controversial study; it consisted of infusing beings with wyrm blood. This ultimately transformed them in to monstrosities and replaced some traits of the original being with wyrm or dragon like traits. This traumatically changed the being from stable, to an unstable one with extremely hostile tendencies.
One of the most common wyrm monsters is a wyrm wolf, none of them look the same and are extremely deformed. Some wyrm wolves were able to adapt to the blood and were strengthened by it and adapted more dragon like features, consisting of horns, scales, and spikes along the spinal cord. While most of them consist of just muscle, with little or no skin at all leaving them very vulnerable and require to use tactics and instincts from their previous life. They generally travel in packs and utilize their preys weaknesses to attack; much like a typical wolf. However, even the "weaker" ones are substantially stronger than their natural counter part.
This scientists research eventually tread upon Draconians; thus they became the dragoons. It took him years to finally experiment and toy with this idea and when he finally decided to execute it, he used his own body. Since he was the first rat to experiment on, he failed... He crippled himself, his body did not adapt to it very well. He documented his changes and decided to find more specimens... He kidnapped people throughout his village, and even neighboring cities to seek perfection of this art, and he eventually succeeded. He then started this disgusting cult and required each member to be transformed... He had very few followers, but he eventually started to brain wash and trick people in to joining.
A dragoon who adapted to the change was better than a typical Draconian in every way. The dragoon is faster, stronger, more cunning, and is able to utilize its own deformities (claws, horns) as weapons. It seemed like the perfect race was created, however, the scientist did not get very far with the cult. Nero Kirbus and his party found them on his quest to slay the dragons simply vanquished them single handedly.
Even after they were slain, the wyrm monsters numbers did not dwindle. The scientist was wicked enough to develop machines that were strewn upon the wilderness of all of Draconus; these machines were able to transform the animals in to these wyrms. The locations of these devices seemed to be the locations of the dragons that Ninko Kirbus slayed. The machines emitted a gas throughout the areas they were placed, in turn the natural wilderness nearly became extinct.
The great figures of the planet were baffled at how a single scientist was able to nearly destroy such an eco system and began to question if it truly was just him... However, the evidence only showed it was this one scientist, but it he was studying wyrm blood infusion for decades before it became evident.
